Lou Recate is a fantastic holiday house, in a very quiet setting in a dead-end street but still within walking distance from the world-renowned Saint Remy de Provence (Bouches- du-Rhône region Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur).
This holiday house was refurbished with the utmost care. Its warm interior is exceptionally delightful. You can enjoy a good barbecue or relax with a good book under the beech trees n the heart of Provence. Wonderful holidays guaranteed!
There is a lovely, round and heated swimming pool (diameter 8m – 1.80m deep – open from 01/04-30/09) and surrounded by a beautiful and spacious terrace with more than necessary and luxury garden furniture. In the fenced garden there is mood lighting.
Lou Recate is definitely a fantastic deal for those seeking relaxing holidays with many possibilities for excursions. Saint Remy de Provence is very well-known and beautiful, it is a typically Provençal town with many cultural activities, restaurants, shops, terraces,... In this typical village of St Remy de Provence you can
both in the evening and during the day, enjoy one of the many terraces, the art galleries, grab a nice restaurant or even hunt for souvenirs in the many shops.
The immediate surroundings of Saint Remy are really very interesting for numerous excursions. It is surrounded by France's most famous Provencal towns such as Les Baux de Provence, Avignon, Arles, Nîmes, Gordes, ...
It is also a paradise for cyclists.
There is are plenty of attractions such as, museums, local markets, delicious restaurants, etc.
During the summer months there are also lots of typical festivals organised, such as :
- the Transhumance on Whit Monday (4,000 sheep pass through the city),
- every Sunday in May, June, August and September there is an exhibition of 200 artists,
- around 15 August there are bullfights for 4 days, the Organa festival and the Jazz festival.
- The Vincent Van Gogh painting walking tour is also very educational.
On the other hand, there are also the Camargue, the Lubéron, the Gard, etc. All beautiful regions in the vicinity. Tourist excursions therefore abound. Weekly market on Wednesday.
The Lou Recate villa is very warm and spacious. Ideal for a family stay. Kika welcomed us wonderfully, the house was very clean and this was all the more appreciable as we had two babies with us. All the equipment of the house is complete (kitchen, bedrooms, laundry room etc.). Several vehicles can be parked on the property. The garden, like the swimming pool, is very well maintained. The proximity (on foot) to the city center of Saint-Remy-de-Provence is another major asset. The villa is located in a dead end road, we were very quiet. We had an excellent stay with the family and the welcome from our hosts was greatly appreciated.
We had a lovely stay at Lou Recate which is a peaceful and quiet home/property. The gardens are beautiful and the house is well laid out. The beds were comfortable. The pool was very nice (although in mid-October it was a little too chilly to enjoy it). The garage is large and provides plenty of storage for rental bikes. Julie was flexible and allowed us to reschedule our reservation due to the covid situation so we very much appreciated that. Kika was super helpful and gave us a detailed walk through of the house and she came by a few times during our stay to check on things. Overall we were very happy and would definitely recommend Lou Recate.
The house is beautiful and very well equipped. The outdoor environment is fantastic and the location ideal (less than a kilometer from the center). Saint-Remy is a beautiful and very lively town. Kika, the lady in charge of the house is simply adorable and very caring with the hosts. The house deserves some work in the kitchen but the whole is still very pleasant.
