You’ve booked the dates with the office, someone will take over your shift. You’ve booked the perfect holiday house with a swimming pool, and you know this year will be an amazing holiday. But there is this uneasy feeling in your stomach as the days go by and the departure date grows near, a nasty feeling at the back of your mind.
What if you forget something?
We have a holiday checklist to suggest, to ease away that nasty feeling and get you into pre-holiday mode. Keep your eye on the prize, you’ll soon be sipping wine on the terrace of your holiday house.

This is the one thing you should not forget as it would be hard to replace.
- Identity papers for you and the family, including the family pet if it is going with you.
- Credit cards are better than cash to travel with.
- Prescriptions for any medication, pharmacies in holiday spots are strict: you’re the one on holiday, not them.
Make sure you have all the information you need to access your holiday house, ready at hand. Frustration may hit new levels if you travel all that way to reach a closed gate.

If you are travelling by car, you’ll want to make sure that it is in top shape before hitting the road.
Book your appointment soon enough since you are not the only one travelling, especially in summer – and many mechanics are prepping to go on holiday too!
If it is an electric car, you will find some more information here.

I know, I just said there are pharmacies everywhere. Still, I would recommend taking the medication you need for at least the first few days.
I would add sunscreen, insect repellent and a general anti-itch cream.

Stock up on water and small snacks, just in case.
There are often limited options on the road when it comes to eating out. And above all, a few snacks will save you time.
But be careful to respect break times if you're on the road!

Make sure passports and tickets are ready at hand, including your furry best friend’s passport.
Pack light and get to the airport early, to avoid unnecessary stress.
Make sure you also have everything you need for the car rental.
Swimsuits, bikinis, sunglasses, flip-flops, beach towels, hats, caps...
...I didn’t mention them but as they say, always state the obvious.
