Costa Blanca
The Costa Blanca owes its name to the white beaches that are visible from the plane when one lands in Alicante. It is also said to refer to the almond cultivation of the region. Almond trees have brilliant white and pink blossoms that colour the landscape. As Spain is the third largest producer of almonds in the world, the blossom makes for a lush landscape.
Rent a holiday home with swimming pool in the Costa Blanca for a fantastic cycling holiday!
With 300 days of sunshine per year, you will be able to plan long cycling routes in the summer without any worries! Especially now that they are improving the cycle paths in the region so that the sporty tourists can feel completely welcome. The town of Calpe even calls itself "Calpe, cycling city!"

Calpe is a beautiful coastal town with lovely beaches and lots of nature that is ideal for walkers and cyclists. The infrastructure is great for cyclists and there are many cycling associations where you can ask for routes, advice or help. However, you can also choose to swap the bike for a day of water sports because in Calpe you can dive, kayak, canoe, surf and more. The coastline is adorned by a large rock that sticks out above the sea, the Penon de Ifach. As the rock is connected to the coast by a narrow strip of land, you can hike up to the rock for fantastic views. If you are lucky, you can see flamingos in the salt lakes nearby!

Murcia has also taken many initiatives to make cycling more enjoyable. They have started international cooperation to create cycling routes so that the regional cycling routes become part of the almost 6000 kilometres long "Euro Velo 8" route. This cycle route runs along the Mediterranean coast from Cyprus to Cadiz. The nature around Murcia is beautiful and there are more and more bicycle routes to discover!
In the Costa Blanca there is a lot to see, and because of the pleasant infrastructure, the healthy outdoor air and the lovely beaches you will not be able to sit still. After a long day in the hot sun at the Costa Blanca, you will be ready for a refreshing dive and the comfort of your own holiday home with swimming pool. Make it a wonderful holiday!
