Costa Dorada
Costa Dorada is a 216 km long coastal region in Catalonia and is literally translated as the "Golden Coast". Its name refers to the beautiful sandy beaches of course. In addition to these fantastic beaches overlooking the clear blue sea, there is also plenty to do inland. We would like to introduce you to this great region so that you have plenty of options to enjoy with your family or friends during your holidays in the Costa Dorada! Easy to reach from your holiday home with swimming pool of course 😉 .
A bigger fan of the Costa Blanca? Then check out here the best sights in this region!
One of the most famous resorts on the Costa Dorada is undoubtedly the town of Salou, one of Spain's most popular destinations during the hot summer months with an average temperature of 30 degrees. Salou has a one kilometre-long promenade, perfect for stretching your legs when sunbathing. This sun, sea and beach experience is enriched by many water sports that you can practice in the marina. Would you like to have a fun day out with the kids? Then we recommend PortAventura World, a very large theme park consisting of 2 amusement parks and 1 water park. After a tiring day out in Salou, it is really time to come home to a holiday house with private pool, don't you think? 😊
Would you like to leave your holiday home with swimming pool and soak up some culture? Then the city of Tarragona is the right place for you. The most popular activity in this city is undoubtedly the Roman amphitheatre, which was built in the 2nd century BC. This impressive piece of history is located right next to the coast, where you can enjoy the sunshine with a drink. You can combine this activity perfectly with a visit to the Roman aqueduct 'Les Ferrerres' and the Roman circus. Besides these sights, the fabulous Gothic cathedral is also worth a visit. The cathedral is built on a hill, giving you a fantastic view over the city and the sea.
This quiet town is not inferior to the other better known cities and is certainly worth a visit, mainly because of the lighthouse located on the coast. Here you can take beautiful pictures, go on nice walks or just enjoy the view during sunset! Do you prefer something sporty? Then you also have nice possibilities to scuba dive and snorkel here!
Looking for a fun day out? Then Barcelona is definitely our favourite! For the shopaholics among us, it is first of all a fantastic city for shopping😍. But Barcelona has much more than shops of course, the most visited sights in Barcelona is undoubtedly the Sagrada Familia and should definitely be on your to-do list! End the evening with one of the many tapas restaurants and the magical fountain show!
Have you had enough of your holiday home with swimming pool for a while, and do you feel like taking in some culture? This city may not be on the Costa Dorada, but it is definitely worth a visit from your holiday home! No doubt you've seen the following building passing by on Instagram, Facebook... Yes, it is 'Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciencies', better known as the City of Arts and Science. It is a complex of 7 buildings and is the number one attraction in Valencia, a must-do for the tourist! Some other things to visit in Valencia are the Cathedral La Seu, the Park 'Jardines de Turia' and maybe nice for the kids, l'Oceanografic, the largest sea aquarium of Europe!
